Meet our designer
Laureen Topalian graduated from the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris and studied the traditional art of Persian miniature painting with the master Abbas Moayeri. A large part of her work is inspired by miniature painting originating from India and Iran. She uses the techniques and representational codes of this so-called traditional art in compositions with a contemporary aesthetic, also working on formats larger than those of ancient manuscripts.
She holds a master's degree in art history focusing on the surrealist movement.
She received the Pierre David-Weill Drawing Prize in 2005 and the Saint-Exupéry Prize in 2008 for the album Le Prince Tisserand , published by Le Sorbier.
In 2026, she founded Éditions Laureen Topalian, the portfolio Armenia the Fantasized Journey - 12 plates paintings and drawings is the first title in the catalogue.
